Update: 10th November 2008
CNET has updated the Mootorial for MooTools 1.2 and adapted also a new design for the website. In the meantime even a MooTools book was published. More at:
The Mootorial from CNET is a hot tip for everyone who is toying with the idea of MooTools but struggles with using the JavaScript framework. Aaron Newton – developer at CNET – took the trouble of writing a tutorial for MooTools and published it on //clientside, the CNET developer-blog. The great number of examples with extensive explanations help to overcome the first hurdles and the sourcecode examples can be used for your own MooTools functions.
CNET MooTools extensions
The Mootorial does not only offer a good starting point for using MooTools, but also describes the freely available upgrades for it that were programmed by CNET developers. And it contains all sorts of useful stuff:
- Layout widgets (e.g. carousel.js, MooScroller, tabswapper.js)
- Native extensions (e.g. date.js, element-extensions, string.cnet.js, window.cnet.js)
- Effects extensions (z.B. Fx.Marquee, Fx.SmoothShow.js, Fx.SmoothMove)
