Template: Sliding Pages Basic

Tags: JavaScript, HTML, MooTools, CSS, ThemeForest | last edited: 26.10.2008

A few weeks ago, I found ThemeForest.net on one of my favourite blogs, Freelanceswitch.com. ThemeForest.net is a portal for buying and selling HTML-website-templates. I immediately noticed the portal’s great implementation and the possibility, for me as an author, to put up my own HTML-templates for sale.

The idea of developing a website template, which is not customized for a particular product or client, but mainly follows my own ideas and imagination, was very appealing. In my digital crate, I also had a javascript lying around, which can display smaller sites in a very interesting way with a scroll effect, but hasn’t been deployed yet with the attention it deserves.

Sliding Pages: Open Basic on ThemeForest.net

Now I only had to design a nice basic design to present the scroll effect and adapt the slightly dusted javascript to MooTools. I also had to upgrade it with a few functions, adhere to a dozen rules and references for the uploading of templates on ThemeForest and find a suitable name for the template. Voila! After what felt like 723 working hours, there it was: the Sliding Pages Template was finished and successfully uploaded on ThemeForest.

In the course of time, I intend to add a series with different designs of Sliding Pages Templates.

Hey thought you might like this example I created using the YUI Bezier curve animation library mixed with JQuery which I’m more familiar with…. never did get to fully implement it but hey it was a lot of fun to prototype.
